A dental implant is an artificial prosthesis that replaces a lost natural tooth and takes over its function. The titanium screw placed in the jawbone fuses with the bone to act as a natural root; the porcelain crown placed on top is visually indistinguishable from the surrounding teeth.
Compared to other prosthetic treatments, implant treatment offers one major advantage: it does not damage neighboring teeth. While a classic bridge requires the adjacent teeth to be filed down, an implant leaves neighboring teeth completely untouched. Patients can eat, speak and smile comfortably, just as they would with their natural teeth.
The treatment process consists of 5 stages: 1) Examination & digital tomography to assess jaw structure and bone density. 2) Local anesthesia is administered. 3) The titanium screw is placed in the jawbone (30-60 minutes). 4) A 3-5 month osseointegration (bone-fusion) period follows. 5) In the prosthetic stage, once proper integration is confirmed, the porcelain crown is fitted.
Who is it suitable for? It can be applied to any adult whose jaw development is complete (16-17 for girls, 18+ for boys); there is no upper age limit. Certain systemic conditions (uncontrolled diabetes, blood clotting disorders, severe heart disease, significant osteoporosis) require prior evaluation — the treatment plan is finalized during the initial examination.
As the Nano Dental family, with over 20 years of clinical experience, the implants we use are European-approved (Straumann, Nobel Biocare). Treatment guarantee: we provide a written warranty for the implant and crown used.
