Pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry)

Protecting the baby and permanent teeth of children aged 0-13; specialized dentistry for children covering everything from cavities and trauma to hereditary causes and habit disorders.

Pediatric dentistry means dentistry for children. It aims to protect and ensure the healthy development of children's baby teeth (deciduous) and permanent teeth between the ages of 0-13.

Pediatric dentistry is a specialized discipline focused on resolving problems in children's teeth caused by cavities, trauma, hereditary factors and similar causes. To ensure every child has healthy teeth and gums from infancy onward, our specialist dentists use the most effective methods and the latest technology.

First examination: The child's first dental appointment should be scheduled when the first tooth erupts, or around age 1. This appointment helps the child get used to the clinical environment and provides care guidance for the family.

Preventive treatments: Fluoride application strengthens the enamel of baby and permanent teeth, reducing the risk of decay. Fissure sealants protect newly erupted permanent molars from decay by sealing the grooves in their chewing surfaces.

Cavity treatment: Special filling materials (including colored fillings) and painless techniques designed for children. Nitrous oxide (sedative analgesia) or general anesthesia options are available for sensitive cases.

Trauma intervention: Emergency treatment for teeth chipped or displaced due to falls or impact — treatment approaches differ between baby and permanent teeth.

Habit disorders: Conditions such as thumb-sucking, tongue-thrusting and nighttime bruxism can negatively affect jaw development if not corrected early — pediatric dentistry plays an active role in managing these habits.
