Gum Disease Treatment (Periodontology)

Gum disease is the general term for conditions and disorders affecting the hard and soft tissues surrounding the teeth and roots. All methods for diagnosing, treating and maintaining these tissues fall under the concept of "Periodontology."

At our clinic, we treat many gum conditions — such as bleeding, swelling and inflammation — as effectively as possible. Early diagnosis and proper treatment prevent tooth loss.

Scaling (tartar removal): Plaque and tartar adhering to the tooth surface and below the gumline are cleaned with ultrasonic devices. Most gum diseases can be prevented with routine treatment 1-2 times a year.

Curettage (subgingival cleaning): In advanced cases, reaching pockets beneath the gumline to clean tartar, plaque and infected tissue. Performed under local anesthesia, with a focus on patient comfort.

Flap surgery: In very advanced cases, the gum is surgically opened, bone defects are treated, and grafting is applied if needed.

Periodontal aesthetics: Aesthetic correction for gum recession, gummy smile, and symmetry issues — an important part of smile design.
